Dublin, the town of Irish leprechauns, guinness and drunken hen/stag parties...right? WRONG. Dublin is a diverse city full of exciting history, incredible examples of georgian architecture and seriously good food and cocktails.
If you ask me, many people plan a long weekend the wrong way round and take the friday off of work. General moral in the workplace and your bosses mood should be generally more upbeat on a friday and some nice companies even let you start your weekend early. As part of the English Heritage trust, this great Jacobean house is a great place to enjoy a picnic and indulge yourself in history. If you're like me, you'll fantasize daily about 18th century grandeur and feasts in a great hall. Audley End House boasts a vast collection of original textiles, art, furniture and taxidermy to compliment some of the best ceilings I have ever seen in England (we cannot compare to the rest of Europe's spectacular frivolity.)
